Does iPhone 12 have eSIM and how to activate it?

The newly launched iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro Max sparked a lot of interest and discussions about missing wall charger and headphones in the package.

Is iPhone 12 missing eSIM as well?

Good news, it is not, eSIM module is embedded in all new models including iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro Max, offering you to enjoy all the benefits eSIM has to offer:

  • making your phone DUAL SIM (you can have both your plastic SIM plan activate and eSIM at the same time, so you can make and receive calls to/from both
  • having additional eSIM and number from MobilityPass offers you security and privacy which cannot be achieved with SIM provided by local carriers – no one will see your data about calls, data or invoices
  • keep your plastic SIM and activate roaming or travel eSIM in foreign country when you travel
  • have one phone for both personal and business as you can keep both numbers on the same phone
  • you can have up to 10eSIMs from various providers and can switch between them to get the best connection wherever you are
  • save on roaming charges when travelling by using roaming or local eSIM and still keeping your current number from plastic SIM active
  • no shipping is required when you order new eSIM – you get QR code digitally instantly!
  • you can even activate eSIM on your watch

and much more

How to get eSIM?

You can obtain eSIM from your local operator or, if you plan to travel, or need independent international plan with ability to choose the number for your eSIM and other features, as well as save on roaming charges, you can try eSIM from MobilityPass.

How to activate eSIM plan?

This is the most common question.

Your iPhone needs to be eSIM compatible running iOS 12.1 or later to activate eSIM. Please check the list of eSIM compatible iPhones and Smartwatches here – https://www.mobilitypass.com/sim/en/esim-compatibility

You just need to follow instructions from Apple.

Basically, all you need to do is just add another plan in networks settings and scan our eSIM QR code or download eSIM.

Please see official Apple instructions here:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209044 (Using Dual SIM with an eSIM

and for smartwatch here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209043 (Use Dual SIM with Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + Cellular) and Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular))

We do provide you QR code after your purchase (available in your Member Area), so you can add new plan and download or scan our QR code to activate it.

* Please note, that Apple has a list of carriers that do not support eSim. This does not mean that our esim is will not be working with that carrier, it just means that carrier does not supply eSIM. Our eSIM is able to connect to over 500 carriers worldwide.

Hope this information is helpful.
